Two young children died Thursday evening as a result of injuries they suffered in a single-vehicle crash in Hempstead County.
According to Hempstead County Sheriff James Singleton, the boy and girl, ages 3 and 5, were in a vehicle traveling on Hempstead 324 near Clow, in northern Hempstead County around 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 4 when the crash occurred. Arkansas State Police say the vehicle, a 1994 Mitsubishi, veered off the road and overturned.
The Sheriff said three other people were also transported with the two children by private vehicle to Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville. All those involved were already transported from the scene when Hempstead County Deputies were notified of the crash.
The children were pronounced deceased at Howard Memorial by Howard County Coroner John Gray. Their names are being withheld at this time due to their age.
The crash is being investigated by the Arkansas State Police and Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office.
