Mr. Michael Ray Mitchell was born in Washington, AR to the late Clyde Jr Mitchell and Mrs. Bobbie Jean Mitchell.  Michael joined St. Paul CME Church in Washington, AR an early age.

Michael graduated from Lincoln High of Washington in 1976.  Following graduation, he worked for Chrysler for a number of years.  He later moved back to Arkansas, where he remained until his death on Thursday, August 30, 2018.

Michael was a loveable person, he loved his family.  Michael loved to dance at ball rooms in Detroit and loved to dress.  He was a sharp dresser, his personality was outgoing, but quiet at times.  Michael had a special love for his aunties, he looked up to them and was spoiled by all of them.  Michael will be greatly missed by all.

Sweet memories will live on in the hearts and lives of his dear children; one daughter, Amber Ray Mitchell Tate of Sumter, South Carolina; one son, Lenard Ray Mitchell (Christy) of Denver, CO; one brother, Clinton Terry, Jr. of Washington, AR; one special friend, Jenna Wesson; a special cousin, John Crosby; eight aunts; a host of uncles, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie J. Mitchell Porter; father, Clyde Jr Mitchell; grandparents, Pink and Daisy Frison.

Visitation will be 12-5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, September 8 at First Baptist Church.  Burial will be at Washington Cemetery in Washington.  Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
