A traffic stop Wednesday led to the arrest of two people from Hope on drug charges.
According to Hope Police Assistant Chief Kim Tomlin, an officer initiated a stop around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 29 in the 900 block of North Hervey on a vehicle occupied by Kierra Ogden, 29, and William Hardin, 23, after observing a traffic violation.
Tomlin said that during the stop, officers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and located around nine ounces of what they believed to be marijuana along with digital scales.
Ogden and Hardin were both placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were transported to the Hempstead County Detention Center.
