John Lindell Hill, the 57-year-old Blevins man wanted on attempted murder charges, has been captured in Illinois after a traffic stop.
Hill had an attempted murder warrant issued for him after allegedly firing on his wife in her vehicle as she attempted to flee from him on the night of Friday, August 10.
The almost three-week manhunt for Hill came to an end over 450 miles from Hempstead County. Just after midnight on Tuesday, August 28, Sheriff James Singleton said, when Hill was pulled over and identified by Granite City Police Officers in Granite City, IL. Sheriff Singleton said officers took Hill into custody and found two rifles, a handgun and a hand grenade in his possession.
Hill is being held by Granite City Police pending extradition back to Hempstead County.
