HOPE, AR – Governor Asa Hutchinson and Director of Workforce Services, Daryl Bassett, will be in Hope Friday for a deed transfer ceremony at the former Hope Migrant Farm Labor Center(HMFLC).
The Governor and Director will be deeding over a portion of land formerly used for the HMFLC to the county. Judge Haskell Morse will receive the deed on part of the county.
The Migrant Center, in Hope since 1954, provided assistance to migrant farm laborers but, due to declining migrant population and decrease in federal funding, the Migrant Center was closed in 2013. An Arkansas Department of Workforce Services office has operated at the location and will continue in its current location.
The ceremony will be held at the Migrant Center at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 4. The Center is located at 205 Smith Rd. (right just past the Highway Department on North Hazel).
