HOPE, AR – The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana Beta Beta Kappa Chapter is one of only 363 Phi Theta Kappa chapters, out of 1,283 nationwide, to receive REACH Rewards. The rewards program is designed for chapters focused on Recognizing Excellence in Acceptance and Completion with Honors. In short, it is called REACH Rewards. The REACH Rewards program encourages membership by rewarding chapters who achieve or exceed 15 percent for their membership acceptance rate.

Beta Beta Kappa at UAHT reached an impressive 35.4 percent acceptance rate. The acceptance rate for the region was 14 percent, for the division 13.6 percent, and 13.2 percent internationally. According to PTK.org, a recent study of Phi Theta Kappa members shows that members have an overall student success rate of 91 percent, compared to a national success rate of just 38 percent.

“I am thrilled at the recognition of our chapter,” said Jason Chism, PTK Advisor. “Our success is a result of a campus-wide team effort and is due, largely, to the work of Cindy Lance and Becky Wilson in creating assistance for membership through financial aid, to Jill Bobo in supporting PTK through Foundation scholarships for membership dues, and mostly to our amazing chapter officers. Our campus is so innovative and supportive in this way that I have been asked to provide a lecture at the Centennial International Conference in April.”

As a reward for the exceptional acceptance rate, advisors and members attending the PTK Catalyst Conference 2018 will receive REACH Chapter Ribbons upon arrival.
