Deacon R.D. Brown Jr., 78 of Prescott, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Hope, Arkansas.

Deacon R.D Brown, Jr. was born February 28, 1940 to the Late R.D. and Lenora-Charles Brown, in Prescott, AR. R.D. accepted Christ at a young age.

Deacon Brown was a lifetime member of Sweet Home Baptist Church under the direction of Reverend Young. R.D. received his formal education at McRae High School. He joined the U.S. Army where he served proudly.

R.D. was employed with the Arkansas Highway & Transportation Department for 20 years until his retirement.

R.D. lived life to the fullest. You could always find him doing what he loved best, just sitting and chatting with his friends and neighbors in Prescott. R.D. never met a stranger.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his three brothers Ira, Alonzo, and Eddie Ray, and one nephew, Randy Bragg.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved sisters Zadie B. Bragg of Rockford, Illinois and Mattie Walker of Bluff City, Arkansas; one god-sister Gevena Gulley of Prescott, Arkansas; two uncles, Verner Brown, and Robert Brown of Rockford, Illinois; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Cecile Argo (son) and family and Angela Allen and family for your care of R.D. in his last days.

Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday March 16, 2018 at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home Prescott.

Funeral service will be Saturday March 17, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Sweet Home Baptist Church, Prescott, Arkansas. Interment will be at Sweet Home Cemetery with Pastor Charles Young officiating under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home Prescott, Arkansas.
