HEMPSTEAD COUNTY – Construction on Patmos Road (Hempstead 3) has shifted again as crews are nearing the end of the Patmos Road prjoect.
According to Hempstead County Judge Haskell Morse, Patmos Road is closed at the 8.2 mile point and is scheduled to remain so until Monday, January 29. This is located on the long, straight stretch just north of Highway 355. Anyone who needs to get to locations beyond the eight mile mark will still need to find an alternate way around until the construction is complete.
Starting Tuesday, January 30, Patmos Road will be closed just north of Hempstead 56. Judge Morse said the crew will be installing a large concrete box-culvert which will have the section of road closed for about 10 days, weather permitting. Once this culvert replaced, Judge Morse said there will be no more complete closures of Patmos Road but there will be times of one-lane, directed traffic as crews put on the finishing touches.
Judge Morse said the county appreciates everyone’s continued patience and cooperation as the Patmos Road project is completed.
