HOPE, AR – An Arkadelphia man was killed in a head-on crash with a semi on I-30 Monday night.
According to the Arkansas State Police, Kevin G. Taylor, Sr., 61, of Arkadelphia was pronounced dead on scene of the crash. According to their investigation, Taylor was traveling east in the westbound lane on I-30, near the 22 mile marker, at 9:26 p.m. when he crashed his 2000 Chevy pickup head-on into a 2015 Freightliner tractor trailer. Taylor reportedly had no headlights on at the time of the wreck and it was foggy. Taylor’s truck was knocked into the ditch. The semi came to a stop in the median.
The Arkansas State Police, Pafford EMS, Guernsey Fire Department and Cross Roads Fire Department all responded to the scene. Firefighters had to extricate Taylor from his truck. Deputy Coroner Eddie McKinnon pronounced Taylor dead on the scene.
The crash is under investigation by Trooper Chris Bussey.
