Eldress Ruby Lee Johnson Muldrow was bom on October 27, 1944 in Buckeye, Arizona to the late Elvin C. Johnson and Cordie L. Terrell Shaw. Eldress Ruby joined The Supreme Council of theHouse of Jacob on December 21, 1958. She attended H.C. Yerger High School and graduated on May 29, 1963. She left Hope after graduating, and went to California to live with her Uncle Jesse, who preceded her in death. While living in California, she had her first child with the late Ralph Young, Sr. After returning to Hope, Eldress Ruby met and married her loving husband of 50 years, Pres. ElderJohn Muldrow Jr., who took on the parentage of the son and raised him as his own, along with seven other children from this blessed union. Throughout her life, Eldress Ruby was a hard-worker; she worked at Vander J. Lloyd’s grocery store, Spears Carpet Mill, Champion Parts, and Dollar General.She also babysat in her home, where she loved each child as her own.
Eldress Ruby departed this life on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at the Hospice Care Center in Texarkana, Texas. She leaves behind to cherish her love and memories; her husband, John Muldrow,Jr.; their eight children, Elder James “Tony” Young (Eldress Julia) of Little Rock, AR, Linda Hall of Arkadelphia, AR, John H. Muldrow, Matthew Muldrow both of Grand Prairie, Texas, Naomi Wesley, Mark Muldrow, Jessica Muldrow, Ruby M. Muldrow all of Hope, two children from her husband previousmarriage, Clark Muldrew of EI Dorado, AR, Albert C. Muldrew of Little Rock, AR; five brothers, Robert C. Johnson, James N. Johnson, Clarence Johnson (Annie), Ezekiel Thomas and Jerry Thomas all of Hope; two sisters of Grand Prairie, Texas, Johnnie M. Fantroy (Presiding Elder Anthony), Mae Alice Sampson; one uncle, Pres. Elder Harry H. Terrell (Senior Mother Delores) of Detroit, MI; 17grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Eldress Ruby and her husband opened the doors of their home for many children who needed a place to stay, love andfamily. She loved everyone who crossed her path, and a special friend/classmate, Mrs. Yvonne Williams ofHope, AR.
Family hour will be held 6-7 p.m. Sunday, June 18 at the funeral home. Eldress Muldrow will lie in state 10-10:45 a.m. Monday, June 19 at Rising Star Baptist Church, funeral services will begin at 11am. Burial will be at Scott’s Memorial Gardens in Perrytown.
