HOPE, AR – A crash involving a SUV and a semi didn’t result in any injuries but caused brief traffic interruption on N. Hazel Friday morning.

The Hope Police Department, Hempstead County Sheriff and a Game & Fish officer were already on scene directing traffic due to a semi that had been stuck in the ditch in front of the Superstop gas station on Hazel at Exit 31. A crew from Red River Wrecker had just cleared the semi from the ditch when the wreck occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. A silver Ford Explorer had slowed down when a red Peterbilt from South Arkansas Transport out of Hampton failed to stop and crashed into the rear of the SUV, sending it into the ditch.

Officers called for Pafford EMS and the Hope Fire Department to respond to the scene when they witnessed the crash. They arrived on scene and checked on everyone involved but no one was transported to the hospital.
