UPDATED April 19 @ 3:30 p.m.: According to the Hope Police Department, a 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged with 1st degree murder in the stabbing death of Jaime Dominguez on Saturday, April 15.

The juvenile was arrested on a warrant on Tuesday, April 18 and is being held at the Hempstead County Detention Center. Due to being a minor, the suspect has not been identified at this time.

UPDATED 4-17-17 @ 2:45 p.m.: A release from Hope Police Assistant Chief Kim Tomlin identified the man killed Saturday night as 29-year-old Jaime Dominguez of Hope. Dominguez was transported by Pafford to Christus St Michael in Texarkana where he was pronounced dead.

According to Tomlin, there have not been any arrests made at this time but the case is still under investigation.

A man was killed last night in a stabbing just before midnight Saturday night.

Hope Police Department and Pafford EMS were dispatched to 218 N Pritchard St in Hope at around 11:55 p.m., Saturday, April 15.

Officers arrived on scene and located a man in his late twenties laying in the street with multiple stab wounds to his chest and abdomen.

The Pafford crew arrived on scene and rushed to the man’s side. He was loaded into the ambulance and rushed to Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana. The family was later notified the man died of his injuries.

Officers requested a CID Investigator and began initial interviews and searching the area for evidence. The investigator arrived and began processing the scene. Officers made contact with a group of individuals at another residence as part of their investigation.

According to a relative of the man, there were several people at the residence when an argument broke out between the victim and two other men. According to the witness, the two men made a call to someone and a vehicle arrived a short time later with more men. According to the witness, the argument escalated and someone stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene.
