Mr. Jessie James (Putt) Hendrix was born November 29, 1929 to the late Mr. Willie and Elvenia Bivens Hendrix in Camden, Arkansas.

Our beloved Jessie was called from earth to glory at 9:00pm, April 7, 2017 at a Texarkana hospital.

Jessie was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.  He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Jessie was united in Holy matrimony to Francis Faye Hopson on September 15, 1963.  To this union six children were born.  Jessie was a hardworking man and worked as a brick mason, concrete finisher and he was employed at Lone Star Ammunition Plant, but his greatest passion was plumbing.  Jessie was a licensed Journeyman Plumber in the state of Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Floydia Fulks, Mary Cee Fulks; one brother, Willie Hendrix, Jr.; two sons, Charles Ray Hendrix, Jessie Hendrix, Jr.; two daughters, Debra Ann Hendrix, Queen Ester Johnson; two granddaughters, Charessa Hendrix, Francis Faye White.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Mrs. Francis Hendrix; two sisters, Lendora Early of Crossett, AR, Delia Mae Hendrix of Prescott; three sons, Michael Hendrix, Nathaniel (Connie) Hendrix, Kelvin (Brenda) Hopson of Prescott; six daughters, Wanda Box of Texarkana, TX, Annette (James) Smith, Gail (Jerry) Burton of Centerton, AR, Benita (Tip) Anderson of Fayetteville, AR, Connie (Arnold) Murphy, Mary Hendrix of Prescott; two brothers-in-law, Robert Fulks, Bobby Fulks of Prescott; one sister-in-law, Betty Hendrix of Michigan; 36 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 7 great-greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation 11:30am-5pm, wake 6-7pm Friday at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be 3pm Saturday, April 15 at Prescott High School Auditorium in Prescott. Burial will be at Craven Cemetery in Prescott.  Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
