Rev. Robert W. “Bob” Mayfield, age 83 of Hope, Arkansas passed away, Friday, April 7, 2017 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born in Iantha, Missouri on June 20, 1933 to Herman Lloyd and Para Zada Harley Mayfield. Rev. Mayfield is a Disabled Veteran, serving in the Air Force during the Korean War. He surrendered to preach in 1970, retiring in 1992 due to health.

He is a member of the Baptist Ministers Association of America and the BMA of Arkansas, and was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Hope.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman Lloyd and Para Zada Mayfield, brothers; Charles Edward Mayfield and Nuel Lloyd Mayfield, and sister; Arlene Wimsatt.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Peacock Mayfield of Hope, a son; Terry Allen Mayfield, his wife, Carol of Jonesboro, two daughters; Deborah Elaine Alice of Hope and Robyn Ann Harmon, her husband, Mike of Jonesboro, sister; Nadine Sanders of Verona, Missouri, six grandchildren: Kayla Ann DiCarlo, Nikki Alice, Amber Wilham, Erin Harmon, Jeremey Mayfield, and Caleb Alice, four great grandchildren: Madison DiCarlo, Gavin DiCarlo, Kadyn and Beau Alice, three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren other relatives and friends.

Visitation, 6-8 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home 1001 South Main Hope, AR.

Funeral service, 2 p.m., Monday at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, with Bro. Glen Tropp and Bro. Ed Phillips officiating.  Burial will be in Union Cemetery at Bodcaw, Arkansas.
