The Charger crossed into the southbound lane, struck the guardrail and rolled along it before coming to rest on its roof in the middle of the southbound lane. The highway was damp at the time.
Officer Dean of the Hope Police Department responded, though the crash was outside the city limits, until Hempstead County Deputy McBride and Arkansas State Trooper Henley could arrive on scene.
Officer Dean and members of the Washington Fire Department directed traffic, which was reduced to one lane just north of a dangerous curve with little visibility before reaching the wreck. While most drivers were cautious and headed traffic direction but there were a few who almost struck emergency responders who were trying to get them to stop to avoid oncoming traffic.
Demicia was treated by the crew on Pafford 212. She was awake and responsive. She was transported to Christus St Michael Health System in Texarkana.
