Pafford EMS donated 25 trauma bags to the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office on Monday to be issued to all deputies and reserve deputies to carry in their patrol vehicles.

The trauma bags were presented to Sheriff James Singleton Monday, March 20 by Pafford EMT’s Dawn Hampton and Kelly Russell.

The bags contain supplies for dealing with serious traumas and medical emergencies including severe bleeding, cardiac arrest, broken bones and more. Deputies are often the first on scene during serious injuries and medical emergencies and the trauma bags will give them important tools to render life-saving aid until medics and first responders can make it on scene.

Sheriff Singleton expressed his sincere thanks to Pafford EMS owners Ben and Jamie Gresham. Singleton said, “I would like to thank Ben and Jamie for their donation and commitment to ensure our deputies are provided with this emergency equipment to help them better serve the citizens of Hempstead County.”  The Sheriff said Ben and Jamie told him they would replace any items used out of the trauma bags at for free.
