One man was injured Sunday morning after his truck was struck and rolled over in a three-car crash at North Hervey and West Avenue B.
Hope Police were dispatched around 8:40 a.m. to an MVC on North Hervey. They quickly arrived on scene and notified dispatch that they had a three-car crash with a rollover and entrapment and requested EMS and fire. Hope Fire Department and Pafford EMS were contacted and responded to the scene.
According to witnesses, the wreck occurred when a White Chevy Camaro that was traveling east on West Avenue B failed to stop for a red light and struck two vehicles that were headed north on North Hervey. The Camaro clipped the front of a beige Chevy Impala before striking a Toyota Tacoma causing it to roll onto its passenger side before skidding to a stop in front of Little Ceasar’s.
The occupants of the Impala were not injured and the car only sustained minor damage. Both occupants of the Camaro, a male driver and his girlfriend, also escaped without injury. The driver of the Tacoma complained his head was hurting and was initially unable to get out of his truck. A Hempstead County Sheriff’s Deputy who also responded to assist HPD was able to remove the Tacoma’s windshield and assist the driver out before fire and EMS arrived.
Officers directed the Sunday morning church traffic safely through and around the scene while they conducted their investigation and EMS assessed the people involved in the crash.
The driver of the Tacoma was transported by Pafford to Wadley Regional Medical Center in Hope.
