According to Hempstead County Sheriff James Singleton, Sheriff’s Investigators are looking into property damage at the Patmos Cemetery after someone damaged about an acre of land doing donuts.
Sheriff Singleton said Investigator Justin Crane was contacted by a local resident at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 22 in reference to criminal mischief. The resident advised Investigator Crane that Patmos Cemetery had been “messed up”.
Investigator Crane went to Patmos Cemetery located in the 100 block of Hempstead County Road 148. Crane observed someone had driven off the side of the road and intentionally cut donuts on the west side of the cemetery. Sheriff Singleton said there were several areas where someone cut several donuts leaving deep ruts.
